Profile

OTH Amberg-Weiden offers a wide range of bachelor as well as master programs. There are courses of study which are unique nationwide such as Patent Engineering and other innovative programmes like Applied Computer Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Retail and Service Management or Medical Engineering.

Both university locations Amberg and Weiden offer a high standard of living, combined with affordable prices. The four faculties of the university have an excellent quality of teaching and enable a very good start of their graduates into their professional lives.

The university considers itself an enterprise, offering services for its region and beyond. With third-party-projects, sponsoring and other co-operations, the staff-student ratio is excellent. Co-operations with companies have led to the implementation of projects such as “Partner Circle”, in which more than twenty of the most renowned regional companies have joined together, forming a close network with the university. In addition to that, there are further initiatives to realize knowledge transfer between the university and the local industry.

At OTH Amberg-Weiden there is a strong emphasis on service. A ratio of 1 professor to 40 students stands for ideal mentoring. Applicants and students are in close contact with the Student Office, the International Office or the Student and Career Service, which all work with an open-door policy. The university also offers its own center for languages and Middle-Eastern Europe.
