University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt
Münzstraße 12
97070 Würzburg

As a state-recognised university of applied sciences with 9,300 students, FHWS guarantees degrees that are recognised all over the world. At our two university locations in Würzburg and Schweinfurt, we have modern lecture rooms, seminar rooms and labs boasting innovative technology and the latest equipment. At ten faculties, we offer a broad, practical and future-oriented academic programme with more than 40 degree programmes.  At the university's 8 institutes and more than 100 labs, applied research is carried out and the acquired knowledge is developed in a practical context. Studying at FHWS means small study groups and very good student/teacher-ratio. Approximately 270 professors with in-depth professional experience gained from the worlds of industry and economy provide academic education that focuses particularly on the practical application of this knowledge.

Since winter semester 2014/15 the University has been offering English speaking undergraduate programmes within the framework of the new and unique concept of the FHWS i-Campus. Within this new concept, FHWS students now have the option to study a programme with English as language of instruction alongside an already existing and identical programme with German as language of instruction. These programmes are our Twin Programmes. As soon as they meet the language requirements, students are able to attend lectures in the German degree programme. At the same time, students of the German degree programme can change to the English one. We call this way of changing between programmes „X-Model“. It creates mixed study groups that benefit from each other not only by their linguistic and cultural competence.
